Fidgeting-Aware Wearables for Mental Health Insight
As mental health challenges rise, especially among young people, Ansia explores how wearable technology can support emotional well-being by passively tracking fidgeting behaviors. The project investigates how clothing can unobtrusively collect meaningful data, blending emotional sensitivity with technical functionality.
My Role
I translated research insights into a sweater prototype by identifying fidgeting gestures and integrating soft fidgeting elements with embedded sensors. I was responsible for circuit integration, coding, and data visualization, ensuring the system could discreetly monitor behavior while remaining comfortable and familiar.
Ansia demonstrates how garments can become tools for behavioral understanding, bridging textile interaction with remote data collection in a thoughtful, human-centered way.
