Hi, I’m Ioana (but most people call me Ima)

A designer who thinks through making, someone who finds clarity in hands-on exploration, and meaning in the tactile. My work blends material experimentation with human-centered thinking, often bridging the gap between emotional needs and technical innovation.

 

Whether I’m printing 4D Textiles, building soft interaction prototypes, mentoring students, or launching my own product collection, I focus on creating designs that feel intuitive, grounded, and evoke emotions.

I’m not tied to one domain, I move fluidly between materials, interaction, research, and strategy. I enjoy working across disciplines, connecting perspectives, and translating complex ideas into tangible outcomes. My goal is to design not just for function or aesthetics, but to bring moments of calm, curiosity, or comfort into everyone's everyday life.
